Customer test result, REMO Muro – Nike Vapor Grip 3

Once again, a customer has taken the trouble to send us his personal comparison results. This time of the REMO Sports MURO and the Nike Vapor Grip 3. Many thanks to Kevin!

Here are Kevin's test requirements:

Cut : Both cuts are identical, except that the adhesive foam on the edge of the hand is folded over on the Muro and the thumb is more stable. There is also a flex cut between the thumb and index finger, which is sorely missing on the Nike. Due to these elements of the Remo model, which have improved Nike's weaknesses, I give the MURO a clear point here.

Wearing comfort: Both gloves are characterized by a tight fit with very soft materials on the inside. Over time, however, the cushioning lining on the inside of the Vapor dries out. This makes the glove very uncomfortable over time, as the dried out material rubs against the palm of the hand. This is not the case with the Muro. Both gloves are excellently ventilated, but in very cold weather the hand cools down very quickly. Another point win for Remo!

upper hand: You won't find good cushioning in Nike. The material here is so thin that you can feel every ball contact, and it's painful.
The Muro has a better solution, the cushioning is more noticeable when making a fist. But it could be a bit better here too. The Muro is also equipped with an innovative lacing system that allows the glove to be tightened as desired. I have to say, however, that the cord is a little too long and the plastic part for fastening it doesn't always hold properly, or often slips under a latex strap. A cool extra, but not absolutely necessary. The flexibility of both models is outstanding.
As already mentioned, the thumb of the Muros is reinforced with latex, offering optimal stability without restricting movement. The thumb of the Nike, on the other hand, is not secured and sits very loosely, so the risk of injury is probably higher here. Unfortunately, the color of the Muros fades quickly, but Remo has already announced that they will test new color mixtures to counteract the problem, which makes me very confident. Due to the better impact absorption and the latex thumb attachment, the point here again goes to the Remo.

Nike 0:3 Remo

Slip-on/tab: The Remo MURO is wider and, above all, thicker. This variant therefore offers perfect protection for the wrist. No stretch bandage, no unnecessary gimmicks. Remo has done a great job here, especially the Velcro material looks extremely high quality. The Nike is almost identical, only that the bandage and the strap are not as long. The hold is just as good, but the Muro variant simply protects the wrist better. Therefore:

Covering: Both surfaces are very good. The grip is very good in dry weather and light rain, only in extremely wet conditions do both surfaces start to become slippery. One idea would be to offer an equivalent version with an aqua surface. The Contact+ surface from Nike offers better impact absorption, however, with the Muro Latex you can feel a little more of the opponent's shot force. This is positive for the feel of the ball, but a little more cushioning can't hurt, especially since the cut is designed for ball feel and contact surface anyway. The durability, especially with the Muro, is excellent! 9 training sessions (2 of them indoors), 2 games: the surface didn't show the slightest sign of wear, looks completely like new! Unbelievable. The Nike held up just as well, but there is still minimal wear on the fingertips. Due to the fact that the two surfaces are the same, each gets a point here.

Nike 1:5 Remo

Processing: Both models look very good at first glance. However, the seams on the Nike quickly eat into the latex, so that the glove quickly developed small tears. With the Remo? No sign of such problems. All seams remained intact without any further problems.

Nike 1:6 Remo

Price/performance ratio: 90€ for the Vapor, 40€ for the Muro. Nuff' said?!

Nike 1:7 Remo

Final conclusion in the test between the Nike Vapor Grip 3 and the Remo Muro

So a clear victory for the Remo. The work Remo has done here is absolutely amazing, and for significantly less money. Hopefully Remo will soon fix the small flaws like the color or the not-so-good cushioning of the base, then this could be the perfect glove for anyone looking for a long-lasting tool for pleasant weather.
